Palazzo Guglielmo, named after the family who lived there, is located in Vignacastrisi, a small town in Salento, about 3 km from the Adriatic Sea.
The palace is in the main square of the village within walking distance from cafe´, pharmacy, restaurant and grocery store and it´s been turned into an elegant and luxury bed & breakfast.
In the past, the ground floor was used as office and warehouse for oil, wine and other products of the local farms.
The breakfast room was the horse stable and it overlooks the courtyard and swimming pool (10m x 4m), which occupies the area once reserved for chickens and rabbits.
On the left side of the court there were wells to store food while the current guest rooms were the kitchen and the laundry.
The first floor was reserved to the Guglielmo family, much loved in the area because they gave work to many farmers and shepherds in their possessions and in the house keeping. A member of the family was also mayor for more than 20 years after the Second World War.
The swimming pool, the courtyard, the orange grove of about 2000 sqm, the breakfast room and three living rooms on the first floor with a library, bar and reading room are the common spaces now reserved to the B&B guests.
Palazzo Guglielmo also has terraces where you can sip an aperitif, attend cookery classes or relax in the jacuzzi.
Finally, guests can rent a bike, an Ape car or a Vespa or also enjoy a boat trip from Porto Miggiano.
Palazzo Guglielmo B&B has 4 double rooms, 2 suites and a Gran Suite.
Each room has an independent entrance from the courtyard, bathroom with bath and shower, air conditioning and WiFi.
The rooms also offer two chairs with a small table outside.
The suites have two rooms: the Fante Suite has a double and a twin, the Simenon Suite has a double and a single.
The Gran Suite is located on the first floor and has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and living room.
