La Macchiola is an organic farm and bed and breakfast, not far from Castro and Castro Marina.
The farm produces and sells organic extra virgin olive oil, jam, potatoes, biscuits and capers. Guests have the opportunity to participate in the olive harvest between October and December.
The farmhouse dates back to 1700 and it´s surrounded by an Italian garden, where breakfast is served in summertime.
La Macchiola also has a small whirlpool swimming pool (for 4-5 people), shiatsu massage and yoga lessons on request.
A ping pong table, a library and bicycles are available to all guests.
La Macchiola can host small weddings, organizes cooking classes and olive oil tastings, and the owners can also suggest itineraries and activities in the area.
Finally, when weather is mild, La Macchiola offers you a pleasant afternoon break on Saturday afternoon (17.00): tea and herbal teas accompanied by pasticciotto, typical Lecce sweet with custard cream and sour cherries.
In summer time at 6pm, La Macchiola offers a refreshing break with ice tea or mint drinks, accompanied by spumone, homemade ice-cream.

How to reach us:
If you are coming from Lecce north, before entering into Lecce city, take the higway direction Maglie- S.Maria di Leuca and go on for about 45 km. Then, when you reach a crossroad with a traffic light, turn left towards Spongano.
Once in Spongano, pass by the rail crossing and on the cross road with traffic light turn to the left. After 300 m there´s a cross road, at the rondabout with the olive tree turn right onto Via Congregazione. After 100 m at the number 57 on the right you will find Masseria La Macchiola.
