Departure from Catania by Fiat 500 with private driver for a city tour. In the city, there are many places of artistic and cultural interest: from the Castello Ursino to Piazza Duomo with the Cathedral and the black elephant obelisk, symbol of the city. The tour proceeds to the Riviera dei Ciclopi, the eastern Sicily coastline that links Catania to Acireale. This coastline inspired the greek poet Omero in writing his “Odyssey”. We will visit the maritime villages of Aci Trezza and Aci Castello: Aci Trezza with its charming panorama on the eight sea stacks that, according to the Odyssey myth, have been thrown by Polyphemus the Cyclops from the Monte Etna against Ulysses’ boats; Aci Castello instead, lays down at the foot of an ancient Norman castle and it’s surrounded by the enchanting sea. This makes the village, one of the most painted glimpses in Sicily. Return to Catania.
