This is a trekking between wines and castles, that will give you the opportunity to discover the many landscapes of the Langhe area and visit some of the most beautiful towns of the area.
The first part of the journey takes place almost entirely through the vineyards that have made the region famous all over the world; here Barolo wine is the key player, and the rows of Nebbiolo grapes extend as far as the eye can see. On the tops of the hills you’ll find villages and castles that invite you to linger and enjoy a good glass of wine and a tasty meal.
The second part of the trip will take you instead to the wildest part of the region, the high Langa, birthplace of the Piedmont hazelnut, which is considered one of the best in the world; forests, deep valleys and hazelnut trees punctuate the journey up to Cortemilia, the final destination of your holiday.

Day 1: Individual arrival in Alba, overnight stay in 4 star hotel

Day 2: Alba – Grinzane - Barolo: 13 km /ca. 3.5 hours
In the morning a taxi will take you to Grinzane castle, where your journey on foot begins towards Gallo d´Alba and then in the middle of La Morra vineyards until you’ll reach Barolo with its castle.

Day 3: Barolo - Novello - Monforte: 9 km/ca. 2.5 hours or 14 km/ca. 4 hours
Today´s route runs almost entirely among the finest vineyards of Nebbiolo grapes, one of the most appreciated Italian wines; initially you reach Novello with its imposing castle, then you head up to Monforte, where you can relax in the main square of the village, always buzzing with tourists and local people. On the longer route you pass by Monchiero.

Day 4: Monforte – Cissone: 16 km/ ca. 4.5 hours
Today´s route takes you to Serrallunga, Sinio, Roddino and then Cissone; addition to the usual rows of grapes, you meet the first hazelnut trees, typical of high Langhe and some wooded areas a little wilder. It´s worth a stop in Serralunga, to visit the castle and enjoy a glass of wine.

Day 5: Cissone, rest day
Today you can take a short circular route around the hills of this pretty village, or enjoy a little relaxation on the terrace of the agriturismo

Day 6: Cissone - Cravanzana: 17 km/ ca. 5 hours
You are in Alta Langa, famous for its hazelnuts; the landscape is characterized by extensive cultivation of hazelnut trees and the deep valley of the Belbo, which you cross, after making a stop at the beautiful church of Cerretto Langhe, to reach Cravanzana.

Day 7: Cravanzana Cortemilia: 12 km/ ca. 3.5 hours
From Cravanzana you follow a nice stretch going down to Torre Bormida and across the river; then a steep climb leads to Bergolo, one of the smallest and characteristic municipalities of Alta Langa.
