Borgo Scopeto is a typical Tuscan estate with delightful views of the famous city of Siena which is only a few minutes away. The Borgo has been beautifully restored and has all the elegance of yesteryear. From this corner of paradise you can see the Mangia Tower and Siena’s cathedral in the distance behind the gentle rolling hills.

In Borgo Scopeto you take a step back into history in a refined and charming residence in the pristine countryside where the only voice to be heard is the voice of nature.

This estate, which for five centuries was the residence of the famous Sozzini dynasty, is now one of the most exclusive hotels in the area and guests can be sure of a unique experience.

The buildings blend in with the countryside and enhance it just as the internal decor is perfectly balanced and adds an international touch.

Rooms

Borgo Scopeto has 58 elegant rooms with all modern comforts which have lost none of their original 14th-century charm. Each room has air conditioning, LCD satellite TV, Internet and a safe. The well-appointed marble and travertine bathrooms have shelves, a magnifying mirror, hair dryer, bath tub or shower. All the rooms are different. Some have an independent entrance and overlook the gardens. Others have stunning views of Siena’s countryside or of the charming little village, and make guests feel they have stepped back into the Middle Ages.

The Classic room, on 28-32 square metres, has one double bed or twin beds and can take a maximum of 2 adults and one child in a cot.

The rooms have a flat-screen TV, pay TV, minibar, direct telephone line, Internet, safe and air conditioning.
The bathrooms are in marble or are tiled, and have a shower and/or a bathtub.

 

The DeLuxe room, on 28-35 square metres has one double bed or twin beds and can take a maximum of 2 adults and one child in a cot.

The rooms have a flat-screen TV, pay TV minibar, direct telephone line, Internet, safe and air conditioning. The bathrooms are in marble or are tiled, and have a shower and/or a bathtub.

 

The Junior suite, on 35-45 square metres, has one double bed or twin beds, a couch and can take a maximum of 2 adults and one child in a cot.

The rooms have a flat-screen TV, pay TV minibar, direct telephone line, Internet, safe and air conditioning. The bathrooms are in marble or are tiled, and have a shower and/or a bathtub.

 

The Suite (with a separate bedroom and living room), on 40-50 square metres, has a double bed or twin beds, a couch or couch-bed and is for a maximum of 4 people.

The rooms have a flat-screen TV, pay TV minibar, direct telephone line, Internet, safe and air conditioning. The bathrooms are in marble or are tiled, and have a shower and/or a bathtub.

 

The Executive Suite (with a separate bedroom and living room), on 50-60 square metres is elegant and had a double bed or twin beds, a couch or couch-bed and can take a maximum of 4 people.

All rooms are comfortable and well equipped but they still have their old charm. The rooms all have a flat-screen TV, pay TV minibar, direct telephone line, Internet, safe and air conditioning. The bathrooms are in marble or are tiled, and have a shower and/or a bathtub.

 

The Villa is a charming apartment with an individual entrance and a private garden and consists of a bedroom and separate living room with one double bed or twin beds, a couch or couch-bed and is for a maximum of 5 people. All rooms are comfortable and well equipped but they still have their old charm. The rooms all have a flat-screen TV, pay TV minibar, direct telephone line, Internet, safe and air conditioning. The bathrooms are in marble or are tiled, and have a shower and/or a bathtub.

Borgo Scopeto is just a few minutes from Siena.
On the short drive from the city to the village you pass through the delightful Chianti countryside and feel part of its history.

Other information

In the "La Tinaia" restaurant, in the old cellars of the Borgo, each detail contributes to create a romantic atmosphere.
The furnishings and the decor blend into the typical Sienese style of the premises. And the menu is a delight of genuine local and regional flavours with traditional recipespresented with an original twist on flavours.
 

Borgo Scopeto is a winery on some 500 hectares in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga in the province of Siena and is in the historical area that produces Chianti Classico wines.

The vineyards belonging to the company cover some 70 hectares, for the most part of Sangiovese vines, which are used in the production of the Chianti Classico. On the land there are also 5,000 olive trees from which D.O.P. Chianti Classico Extravirigin olive oil is produced .

In order to maintain the links with the past and with traditions Borgo Scopeto has preserved the estate’s uniqueness by developing the production of wines.
Wine tastings can be organized in the hotel, i in a timeless atmosphere in the lovely rooms in the tower, or in the ancient cistern, built to collect rain water, which is now a showcase for the wines and olive oils we produce.
It is also possible to book visits and tastings for groups and individuals at the Borgo Scopeto winery which is just 5 minutes from the Relais, not only to taste our wines but also to find out how they are produced.
