The visit will start from Porta Baresana, the old city´s gateway, dating back to the 16th century, and will show you the Angevin Tower and the noble palaces, to end at the Cathedral of St. Valentine and St. Mary Assumption, a splendid example of Apulian Romanesque.

From Bitonto, the tour will continue to the nearby village Palombaio to visit an oil mill and taste extravirgin olive oil.

Mr. Franco will present the company and its products with the unique passion and care he has for his job. At the end of the avenue leading to the front door, Mr. Franco welcomes his guests with his professional and friendly manners and then guides them through the halls of the oil mill.

The front door opens onto a small courtyard overlooked by the offices, the private house and the mill.

The current building was built in late 1700 and early 1800, while the neo-romantic style tower was added by Mr. Franco´s father in 1930s. At that time the farm did not have the oil mill, which was introduced by Mr. Franco in 1970.

The visit will show you the process leading from the olives to the extra virgin oil, the traditional and modern working techniques and the organic production, just recently introduced. After the tour, you will have the opportunity to taste various types of oil and traditional products in a pleasant tasting room with stone walls.
